Community Highlights: A Look Back at EVB’s August
Elkhorn Valley Bank’s activities and community involvement didn’t slow down in August! Throughout the month, we continued making a difference in the communities we serve and strengthening relationships with our customers.
August 6: It was National Root Beer Float Day. Our employee-led social committee got us the sweet treat to celebrate!
August 18: EVB was proud to support the Norfolk Fire Department with a $25,000 donation toward the renovation of their station. The improvements included new sleeping quarters, giving firefighters a comfortable place to rest and recharge between calls. EVB employees were on site to get a full tour of the station. The Fire Chief presented EVB’s CEO and President Aaron Otten with a helmet signed by the firefighters and a certificate of appreciation.
August 18: Chris Fathke, Senior Vice President of Lending at our Yankton branch, attended Dakotafest 2026! He connected with local farmers, ag professionals, and others who help keep our communities moving forward. EVB is committed to supporting agriculture and the people who keep it moving forward.
August 21: EVB is proud to support student success through the Partners in Education program with a $1,531 donation for the 2025-2026 school year. For every Wayne Community Schools student in grades 7–12 who made the quarterly Honor Roll last school year, EVB donated $1 to the Wayne Community Foundation to support academic programs. We look forward to continuing the program throughout the 2026–2027 school year!
August 22: Our Yankton team joined neighbors and friends for Riverboat Days festivities and took part in the parade. We were honored to have our entry named Best Float! Riverboat Days celebrates the people, traditions, and community spirit that make Yankton such a special place. We’re lucky to be part of a community that makes events like this so memorable.
August 28: EVB team members were happy to attend the Elkhorn Valley Nebraska Chapter Whitetails Unlimited Banquet! It was a great evening connecting with others and supporting an organization dedicated to conservation and the outdoors in our local communities.
