Community Highlights: A Look Back at EVB’s December

December is a time for reflection, generosity, and connection—and throughout the month, EVB proudly lived out its mission of making a difference in the lives of our customers, our co-workers, and our communities. From supporting local nonprofits and volunteering our time to celebrating the season alongside those we serve, December was filled with meaningful moments that reflect the heart of EVB.

December 2: Elkhorn Valley Bank celebrated Giving Tuesday by donating $250 each to four local nonprofits nominated by community members: the Briggs & Barrett Project, St. Vincent de Paul Society, The Well, and The Zone Afterschool Program—supporting organizations that continue to make a meaningful difference across our communities.

December 4: The EVB team enjoyed an evening of festive fun at the Yankton Holiday Festival of Lights, celebrating the season alongside community members and sharing in local holiday traditions.

December 5: EVB team members joined in Pierce’s Annual Downtown Christmas Festival, welcoming visitors to the branch, participating in the parade, and celebrating the holiday season with the Pierce community.

December 6: EVB employees gathered for a Christmas party to celebrate another successful year, recognizing the teamwork and shared commitment to serving customers and communities.

December 8: Elkhorn Valley Bank was proud to support and attend the Briggs & Barrett Project Spirit of Giving Gala, an evening focused on awareness, hope, and building a safer future for children through community support.

December 9: EVB hosted an American Red Cross Blood Drive at the Norfolk 25th Street Community Room, helping address the nationwide need for blood donations and supporting lifesaving efforts during the holiday season.

December 10: Several EVB employees volunteered as Salvation Army bell ringers, supporting the Red Kettle Campaign and helping raise funds for local families and neighbors in need throughout the community.

December 15–19: EVB branches welcomed customers for Holiday Raffles and Christmas Open Houses, offering festive décor, treats, and seasonal cheer while celebrating the holidays with customers across all locations.

December 16: EVB employees volunteered with the Norfolk Salvation Army Angel Tree Program, helping prepare gifts and spread joy to local families during the holiday season.

December 17: EVB staff baked and delivered Christmas treats to local first responders as a small thank-you for the vital role they play in our communities. From police and fire departments to EMTs and emergency personnel, EVB was proud to recognize and support these everyday heroes for their year-round dedication and service.

December 18: EVB Wayne hosted a Business After Hours event, welcoming community members for an evening of networking, refreshments, and holiday cheer, along with opportunities to enter holiday raffles.

December 20: EVB recognized the Holiday Raffle winners and thanked everyone who stopped by, participated, and helped make the Christmas Open Houses and raffles such a success.

December 20: EVB’s Norfolk locations partnered to support the Bright Horizons Adopt-a-Family program, raising $1,948 through employee generosity and a company match to provide gifts and essentials for three local families.

December 23: EVB Santa made special visits to local businesses and organizations, bringing smiles, laughter, and holiday cheer to customers and families just ahead of Christmas.

Staff Celebration: Paula Bonneau, Vice President of Compliance, celebrated 30 years of service—an achievement reflecting dedication, leadership, and long-standing commitment to EVB.

As the year came to a close, these moments of service, celebration, and connection served as a powerful reminder of what matters most. Whether through volunteering, community partnerships, or simply showing up for one another, EVB remains committed to making a difference in the lives of our customers, our co-workers, and our communities—not just during the holiday season, but all year long.
