Community Highlights: A Look Back at EVB’s May

Throughout May, our team had the opportunity to stay actively involved in the communities we serve. Whether volunteering at community events, supporting local organizations, or recognizing the achievements of those around us, our team remained focused on strengthening the connections that make our communities thrive.

May 1: Wayne EVB team members volunteered at the local Spring Sprints, a track meet welcoming more than 260 athletes with developmental disabilities from across Nebraska.

May 1: EVB wrapped up the Panther Branch In-School Savings Program with celebrations at each of the seven Panther branches.

May 5: Members of our Norfolk branches attended the Norfolk Prayer Dinner, with keynote speaker Tim Tebow. The event brought together more than 1,000 attendees for a night centered in faith, encouragement, and leadership.

May 6: Staff at our Yankton branch celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week by bringing lunch to teachers at Lincoln Elementary School.

May 13: EVB was proud to support Providence Medical Center’s Wheels, Helmets & Heroes event by donating helmets to help promote bike safety in the community. Volunteers at our Wayne branch enjoyed seeing families and friends come together for the event while supporting local safety initiatives.

May 19: EVB employees participated in the Evolve For All fundraiser event in Norfolk, supporting an organization dedicated to creating inclusive opportunities for individuals with mental and physical disabilities. Team members enjoyed spending time with community members while supporting a meaningful cause that continues to make a positive impact throughout the area.

May 27: EVB was proud to host a community blood drive at our 25th Street branch in Norfolk. We are grateful to everyone who took the time to donate and help make a difference for those in need. Thank you to the donors and volunteers who helped make the event a success.

May 29: The EVB Social Committee hosted an escape room activity for employees, providing a fun opportunity for team building, collaboration, and connection outside of business hours. Staff worked together to solve challenges, strengthen teamwork skills, and enjoy time together with coworkers.

May 29: EVB employees from multiple branches played in the Make-A-Wish Golf Tournament in Norfolk, supporting an incredible organization that helps grant wishes for children facing critical illnesses. We were proud to spend the day alongside community members and local businesses supporting such a meaningful cause while helping make a positive impact for families throughout the region.

Staff Updates

May also brought several exciting staff updates and opportunities to recognize the people who continue making a positive impact across Elkhorn Valley Bank. We congratulate Kenlee Goeden on her promotion to Personal Banker at Omaha Avenue in Norfolk, Sarah Crowder on her promotion to Staff Accountant at 25th Street in Norfolk, and Barett Griffith on his promotion to Loan Administrator at Omaha Avenue in Norfolk. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to serving customers continue to strengthen the EVB team.

We also congratulate Austin Kellogg on 10 years and Kelsey Ruppert and Julie Oltjenbruns on 5 years with EVB! We are grateful for the dedication, hard work, and positive impact both Austin, Kelsey, and Julie bring to our team. Their commitment to serving our customers and communities continues to make a difference across the organization.

We were excited to welcome several new team members to Elkhorn Valley Bank this month. Edwin Alacron joined the Omaha Avenue branch in Norfolk as a Teller, Nick Efta joined the HyVee West branch in Norfolk as a Teller, and Maddison Steffensmeier joined the 25th Street branch in Norfolk as a Teller. Payton Peterson joined the Yankton location as a Teller, Hayden Williams joined the Wayne branch as a Teller, and Tazlynn Sporleder and Skylar Scholting both joined the Pierce branch as Tellers. In addition, Mike Hilliges joined EVB as Service Manager, supporting all branch locations.

Our employees, customers, and communities remain at the center of everything we do. The month served as a meaningful reflection of our team’s dedication, teamwork, and community involvement. We continue to make a difference by strengthening relationships and creating a lasting impact throughout the areas we serve.
